Mercy Chelangat and Flomena Asekol of Alabama took the top two spots in the women's blue division 5-kilometer race at the Notre Dame Joe Piane Invitational at Burke Golf Course in South Bend, Ind. Chelangat, the reigning NCAA Division 1 champion, held off Asekol by a 16:10.3 to 16:10.7 margin, helping the Crimson Tide take third overall behind North Carolina State and New Mexico with 147 points.
